Quick answer

How does this calculator work?

Total annual pay = Base salary + (Bonus % × Base) + (Hourly rate × OT multiplier × OT hours) + Other income. The calculator assumes 2,080 standard hours per year to derive the hourly rate. All figures are gross, pre-tax. Enter your salary components to see the full compensation picture and per-period equivalents.

Formula
Total = Base + (Base × Bonus%) + (Base ÷ 2080 × OT rate × OT hours) + Other
How this is calculated

The calculator starts from your annual base salary and adds three optional pay components. The bonus is a percentage of base salary — enter 10 for a 10% annual performance bonus. Overtime is calculated by first deriving your implied hourly rate (base ÷ 2,080, the standard full-time annual hours of 40 hrs/week × 52 weeks), then multiplying by the overtime rate and number of overtime hours worked per year. Other income covers any fixed additional amounts such as commissions, allowances, profit-sharing, or shift differentials.

All figures shown are gross (pre-tax). The effective hourly rate divides the total annual pay by 2,080 standard hours, giving a useful comparison benchmark across different roles and compensation structures. Bi-weekly figures use 26 pay periods per year.

This calculator does not deduct income tax, national insurance, pension contributions, health insurance premiums, or any other withholding. For net take-home pay, use the gross figure here as the input to a dedicated payroll tax calculator for your country and filing status.

Frequently asked questions

Overtime pay is computed by deriving your hourly rate from your base salary (assuming 2,080 standard hours per year), then multiplying that rate by the overtime multiplier (usually 1.5× for time-and-a-half or 2× for double time) and by the number of overtime hours worked per year. For example, on a $60,000 base with 50 overtime hours at 1.5×: hourly = $28.85, overtime pay = $28.85 × 1.5 × 50 = $2,163.46.

Gross (pre-tax) pay only. Tax deductions, social security, health insurance, and retirement contributions all reduce your actual take-home amount and vary by country, state/province, filing status, and employer. Use the gross figure from this calculator as the starting input for a payroll or income-tax calculator for your jurisdiction.

Anything paid by your employer that is not base salary, bonus, or overtime — for example: commission payments, shift allowances, car or travel allowances (if taxable), profit-sharing distributions, housing or relocation allowances, or annual incentive payments with a fixed dollar amount. Do not include non-cash benefits (health insurance, stock options at market value) unless they are paid out as cash.
