How this is calculated
Dividing the number of months by 12 gives the decimal year value. The integer part (floor) is the number of complete years; the fractional part multiplied by 12 gives the remaining months. For example, 18 months = 1 year and 6 months = 1.5 years.
For the day and week conversions the calculator uses the average Gregorian month length of 30.4375 days (365.25 ÷ 12), which accounts for leap years averaged over a 400-year cycle. Multiplying months by 30.4375 gives total average days; dividing by 7 gives total average weeks. These are averages — the actual day count for a specific span of months will vary by up to a few days depending on which calendar months are involved.
The hour conversion multiplies average days by 24. These figures are useful for project planning, subscription billing periods and loan tenure comparisons where approximate time spans are sufficient.
