How this is calculated
Labor productivity measures how much output is produced per unit of labor input. The most common metric is output per man-hour: divide total output by the total hours worked across all workers (workers × hours per day × days in the period). This single number lets you compare productivity across teams, shifts, or periods of different sizes.
The per-worker total (output ÷ workers) and per-worker-per-day figure are useful for workforce planning and setting targets. They assume every worker contributes equally; if work is not evenly distributed, you can adjust by entering only the relevant subset of workers or hours.
Productivity here is a pure ratio that is dimensionless in terms of money — it works for any countable output (units, orders processed, lines of code, calls handled). To convert to financial productivity or revenue per employee, replace "units produced" with a currency figure; the formula and interpretation remain the same.
