Quick answer

How does this calculator work?

Multiply seasons × episodes × episode_length (in minutes) for total content minutes, then divide by (60 × daily_hours) to get the days until the finale. For example, a 3-season show with 10 episodes of 45 minutes watched at 4 hrs/day takes about 5.6 days to finish.

Formula
Days = (seasons × episodes × episode_length_min) ÷ (60 × hours_per_day)
How this is calculated

The calculation is straightforward division: first multiply the number of seasons by the episodes per season to get the total episode count, then multiply by the episode length in minutes to get the total content time in minutes. Converting to hours and dividing by your daily viewing budget gives the number of calendar days from the first episode to the credits of the last.

The total raw "content days" stat tells you how long the show would take to watch non-stop at 24 hours a day — a fun indicator of how ambitious the series is. A typical one-hour drama series with 10 episodes per season and 3 seasons adds up to about 30 hours of raw content, which at 2 hours of daily viewing takes 15 days of casual watching.

Keep in mind that this assumes a constant daily pace. Weekends, travel or a cliffhanger ending can all change the real-world timeline. The calculator also does not account for intro or credits skipping, recaps, or the time lost to "just one more episode" negotiations.

Frequently asked questions

Most streaming platforms list this on the show detail page. Wikipedia and IMDb episode guides list season and episode counts for almost every show. Average episode length is usually shown in the platform app or listed as a series average on IMDb.

Yes — this calculator uses a single "episodes per season" figure for all seasons. For shows with uneven seasons (e.g. Game of Thrones), enter the total episode count across all seasons in the "episodes per season" field and set seasons to 1, or take the average episodes per season.

Most casual viewers watch 1–2 hours on weeknights and more on weekends, averaging roughly 2–3 hours per day. A dedicated weekend binge session might be 4–6 hours. Anything above 8 hours a day is unusual but the calculator allows up to 24.
