How this is calculated

Capacitance is measured in farads (F), but practical capacitors span fifteen orders of magnitude — from femtofarad semiconductor parasitic capacitances to several-farad supercapacitors used in energy storage. Each prefix step is a factor of 1,000: 1 F = 1,000 mF = 1,000,000 µF = 10⁹ nF = 10¹² pF = 10¹⁵ fF.

The converter anchors every unit to its factor relative to one farad. To convert, it first multiplies the input by the source unit's factor to express the value in plain farads, then divides by the target unit's factor.
