How does this calculator work?
Your next birthday is your birth month and day in the current year, or next year if it has already passed. The days remaining equal that date minus today, rounded up. This tool also shows the weekday, full date, and the age you will turn so you can plan ahead.

How this is calculated
Enter your birth date (B) and a reference date (T), which defaults to today. The calculator builds your next birthday by taking your birth month and day in the reference year: next = Date(T.year, B.month, B.day). If that date has already passed this year (next < T), the year is advanced by one so the countdown always points to the upcoming birthday.
The number of days remaining is the difference between the next birthday and today divided by the milliseconds in a day, rounded up: daysUntil = ceil((next − T) / 86,400,000). The age you will turn is simply next.year − B.year, since your birthday marks completing another full year of life. The progress meter shows how far through the year you are, computed as (365 − daysUntil) / 365.
Dates are interpreted in your local time zone and normalized to midnight, so partial days do not skew the count. If your birthday is today the result is 0 days. Leap-day birthdays (Feb 29) fall back to the platform date handling: in non-leap years JavaScript shifts Feb 29 to Mar 1, which is the common convention for non-leap years.
