Quick answer

How does this calculator work?

Set how likely a Yes should be, then draw a random number: if it falls below your chosen probability the answer is Yes, otherwise No. At 50% it is a fair coin flip. The chart shows the Yes-versus-No split, and every draw is independent with no memory of previous answers.

Formula
p = yes% / 100; draw u in [0,1); answer = u < p ? 'Yes' : 'No'
How this is calculated

You enter an optional question and the probability of a Yes as a percentage. That percentage is divided by 100 to get p, a value between 0 and 1. Values outside 0–100% are clamped, so 50% behaves exactly like a fair coin flip.

The tool draws a uniform random number u in the range [0, 1). If u is below p the answer is Yes, otherwise it is No. Because the threshold is p, the long-run frequency of Yes converges to your chosen percentage. The donut chart shows the split between the Yes chance (p) and the No chance (1 − p).

Every draw is independent and has no memory of past results, so a streak of Yeses does not change the odds of the next answer. Drawing again simply samples a fresh u; the probabilities you set stay the same. At 0% you always get No and at 100% you always get Yes.

Frequently asked questions

It uses your browser's pseudo-random generator, which is more than random enough for casual decisions, games, and tie-breaking.

Leave the probability of Yes at 50%. Then Yes and No are equally likely on every draw.

No. Each draw is independent, so the odds you set apply fresh every time regardless of what came before.
