kPa Conversion Calculator — Kilopascals to All Pressure Units
Convert kilopascals (kPa) to all common pressure units — pascals, megapascals, hectopascals, bar, millibar, atm, psi, mmHg, Torr, and inHg — or convert any of those units back to kPa.
From unit
1 kPa = 1000 Pa = 0.01 bar = 0.009869 atm = 0.14504 psi = 7.5006 mmHg
- 1
Convert to Pascals
101,325 × 1.000 = 101.325 - 2
Convert to kilopascals
101.325 ÷ 1.000 = 101,3250

How this is calculated
The kilopascal (kPa) is one of the most practical pressure units in everyday science and engineering: tyre pressures are quoted in kPa in metric countries, blood pressure monitors display mmHg alongside kPa, weather pressure maps use hectopascals (hPa = 0.1 kPa), and industrial systems often specify working pressures in bar or MPa.
All conversions pass through the pascal (Pa), the SI base unit of pressure. The kilopascal is exactly 1000 Pa. Other exact relationships: 1 bar = 100,000 Pa; 1 mbar = 100 Pa; 1 hPa = 100 Pa (so 1 hPa = 1 mbar). The standard atmosphere is defined as exactly 101,325 Pa = 101.325 kPa. The psi is derived from the pound-force and the square inch (1 psi = 6894.757 Pa). The mmHg and Torr are near-identical approximations based on mercury density at 0 °C (133.322 Pa each for practical purposes).
Note that these conversions assume absolute pressure (measured from a perfect vacuum). Many gauges display gauge pressure — pressure above ambient atmospheric. To convert gauge kPa to absolute kPa, add approximately 101.325 kPa (1 atm).

100 kPa = 100 × (1/6894.757) psi ≈ 14.504 psi. A quick approximation: multiply kPa by 0.145 to get psi, or divide psi by 6.895 to get kPa.
1 bar = 100 kPa exactly, and 1 kPa = 0.01 bar. The bar is not an SI unit but is widely used in industrial and meteorological contexts. Standard atmospheric pressure is 1.01325 bar ≈ 101.3 kPa.
Car tyre pressures in metric countries are typically specified as gauge pressure (above atmospheric) in kPa — a common range is 200–250 kPa gauge, which equals roughly 29–36 psi gauge. The recommended pressure is on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb or in the owner's manual.
