eDPI Calculator — Effective DPI for Gaming

eDPI combines hardware mouse DPI with in-game sensitivity into one comparable number, so you can match your feel across different games, mice, or teammate settings.

Kā darbojas šis kalkulators?

eDPI = mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity — a single number that captures your true cursor speed regardless of hardware. Most FPS pros use 400–1,600 eDPI (≈24–95 cm per 360°). Keep eDPI constant when switching mice or DPI settings; divide your target eDPI by your DPI to get the matching in-game sensitivity.

Formula
eDPI = Mouse DPI × In-game Sensitivity • cm/360° ≈ 38 100 ÷ eDPI
How this is calculated

Different games and players choose different hardware DPI values and in-game sensitivity multipliers, making direct comparisons meaningless. Effective DPI (eDPI) multiplies both together: a player using 400 DPI at 2.0 sensitivity has the same eDPI (800) as one using 800 DPI at 1.0 — and both move the crosshair identically on screen for the same physical mouse motion.

The cm/360° figure measures how far you must physically move your mouse to spin a full 360 degrees in-game. It is a universal sensitivity unit that works across games and mice. A lower value means a faster, twitchy setup; higher means slower and more precise. Most professional FPS players land between 400 and 1,600 eDPI, translating to roughly 24–95 cm per full rotation.

The cm/360° approximation (38 100 ÷ eDPI) assumes a 1:1 sensitivity scale as used in CS2 on default settings. Different games scale differently — some engines apply an additional multiplier — so treat the figure as a close approximation rather than an exact game-engine output.

Biežāk uzdotie jautājumi

eDPI gives a single number to compare sensitivity across different mice, games, or players. If a pro uses eDPI 800, you can replicate that feel exactly by dividing 800 by your mouse's DPI to get the required in-game sensitivity, regardless of your hardware.

Most professional FPS players use eDPI in the 400–1,600 range. Lower values (~400–600) are common in CS2, while slightly higher values (~600–1,600) are typical in Valorant and Apex Legends, translating to roughly 24–95 cm per 360° rotation.

Either combination giving the same eDPI produces identical cursor speed. Many players prefer lower hardware DPI (400–800) for smoother raw input on budget mice. Higher DPI suits desktop precision tasks at lower in-game multipliers. Experiment while keeping eDPI constant to find your preferred combination.
