How this is calculated

The calculator tries two box orientations on the pallet (length-first and width-first) and picks the one that fits more boxes per layer. Each orientation divides the pallet length by the box length and the pallet width by the box width, flooring each to whole boxes — fractional positions are unusable. The better orientation gives the boxes-per-layer count.

The number of layers is found by dividing the maximum allowed stack height by the box height and flooring to a whole number. Cargo weight equals total boxes times the weight per box; total loaded weight adds the tare weight of the empty pallet. If you are shipping by air or road the loaded weight is the figure that matters for freight cost and vehicle axle limits.

This calculation assumes all boxes are the same size and orientation, packed flush with no gaps, and does not account for interlocking (brick-pattern) stacking or edge overhang. Real pallets sometimes allow up to 2–3 cm overhang per side depending on the carrier's rules. Also note that most standard EUR pallets are rated for 1,500 kg dynamic / 4,000 kg static load; US GMA pallets for about 1,800 kg dynamic. Always verify against the pallet manufacturer's load rating.
