Step by step
  1. 1

    Convert to pascals

    30 × 6894,757 = 206 842,72
Multiply the input by the number of pascals per source unit.
  2. 2

    Convert to psi

    206 842,72 ÷ 6,894.757 = 30
    1 psi = 6,894.757 293 Pa by definition.

Jak działa ten kalkulator?

1 psi = 6,894.757 Pa = 6.8948 kPa = 0.068948 bar = 0.068046 atm = 51.715 mmHg = 2.036 inHg. Typical car tyre pressure 30 psi ≈ 2.07 bar ≈ 207 kPa. Enter any pressure unit value to get all equivalents at once.

Wzór
Pa = psi × 6,894.757 • result = Pa / target_factor • 1 psi = 6,894.757 Pa exactly
How this is calculated

One PSI is the pressure exerted by one pound-force distributed over one square inch. Using the exact definitions of the pound (0.45359237 kg) and the inch (0.0254 m) together with standard gravity (9.80665 m/s²), the exact conversion is 1 psi = 6,894.757 293 168 Pa. The calculator uses this factor to convert your input to pascals first, then divides by each target unit's factor to give all results simultaneously.

Key reference values: 1 psi ≈ 0.068948 bar; 1 psi ≈ 6.8948 kPa; 1 psi ≈ 0.068046 atm; 1 psi ≈ 51.715 mmHg; 1 psi ≈ 2.0360 inHg. One pound per square foot (psf) equals exactly 1/144 psi, because there are 144 square inches in one square foot.

Practical reference points: car tyres are typically inflated to 28–35 psi (1.9–2.4 bar); bicycle road tyres run at 80–130 psi; municipal water pressure is often 40–80 psi; blood pressure of 120/80 mmHg is roughly 2.3/1.5 psi. All values here are absolute pressure — to convert gauge pressure (such as from a tyre gauge) to absolute, add local atmospheric pressure (≈ 14.7 psi or 1 atm).

Najczęściej zadawane pytania

1 psi = 0.0689476 bar (or approximately 0.069 bar). Inversely, 1 bar = 14.5038 psi. For quick mental arithmetic: 1 bar ≈ 14.5 psi, or 10 psi ≈ 0.69 bar.

psi can mean absolute pressure (psia) or gauge pressure (psig). Gauge pressure is the pressure above local atmospheric pressure — a tyre gauge reads psig, so a reading of 32 psig means 32 + 14.7 ≈ 46.7 psia. This calculator works with absolute pressure. To convert from gauge to absolute, add standard atmospheric pressure (14.696 psi or 101,325 Pa).

PSI remains the dominant pressure unit in everyday applications in the United States — vehicle tyres, pneumatic systems, plumbing, HVAC and firearms — because US standards bodies, consumer products and tooling are calibrated in psi. Engineering, scientific and automotive tyre pressures in Europe and most of the rest of the world use bar or kPa instead.
