Hur fungerar denna kalkylator?
A grade calculator computes weighted average = Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weight). Enter up to five scores (0–100%) and their percentage weights; rows left blank are skipped so you can compute a running grade. The result is the weighted average percentage and the letter grade on the standard A–F US scale.
Formel
How this is calculated
A weighted grade calculator multiplies each graded item by the fraction of the total grade it is worth, sums those products, and divides by the sum of all weights. Weights do not need to add up to 100%: if you only enter the items completed so far, the result is the correct weighted average for those items — useful for tracking a running grade mid-semester.
The letter grade uses the standard US academic scale with plus and minus variants: A+ ≥97, A ≥93, A− ≥90, B+ ≥87, B ≥83, B− ≥80, C+ ≥77, C ≥73, C− ≥70, D+ ≥67, D ≥63, D− ≥60, F below 60. Different institutions use different cut-offs, so treat the letter as a guide and refer to your course syllabus for the official thresholds.
To calculate what score you need on a remaining assignment, enter your current scores and weights, then add the remaining assignment with your target score and its weight. Adjust that score until the weighted average hits your desired result.
Vanliga frågor
No. The calculator divides by the sum of the weights you actually enter, so entering only completed assignments still gives the correct weighted average for those items. Add remaining items with their weights and target scores to project your final grade.
The calculator uses standard US thresholds: A+ ≥97%, A ≥93%, A− ≥90%, then 87/83/80 for B+/B/B−, 77/73/70 for C+/C/C−, 67/63/60 for D+/D/D−, and F below 60%. Check your institution's syllabus for any differences.
Yes — enter your current assignment scores and their weights (as a fraction of total), then add the final exam's weight with different trial scores until the weighted average reaches your target grade. The score you plug in becomes the grade you need on the final.
