How this is calculated
The volume of a cube is the simplest volume formula in geometry: side length cubed, or s³. Because all three dimensions of a cube are identical, V = s × s × s. This applies in every unit system — if s is in centimetres, V is in cm³; if s is in inches, V is in in³; if s is in metres, V is in m³.
The calculator also shows the total surface area (6s², the sum of six identical square faces) and the space diagonal (s√3, the longest interior line from corner to corner), so you can read off all the key properties of the cube without switching tools.
To reverse the calculation — finding the side length from a known volume — take the cube root: s = V^(1/3). Most scientific calculators have a cube-root button (∛), or you can use the exponent (1/3).
