Finland Salary Calculator 2026 — Net Pay (Palkkalaskuri)
Work out your Finnish take-home pay for 2026. The calculator applies the progressive state income-tax scale, your municipality’s tax rate, optional church tax, TyEL employee pension contributions by age group, unemployment insurance and health-insurance contributions — the same components that appear on a Finnish payslip.

How does this calculator work?
Finnish net salary in 2026 = gross pay minus progressive state tax (12.64–44.25%), municipal tax (≈7.54% average), optional church tax, TyEL pension (7.15% or 8.65% by age), unemployment insurance (0.59%) and health contributions (≈1.5%). A €3,500 gross month leaves roughly €2,550–2,650 in hand at the average municipal rate.
Formula
How this is calculated
Enter your gross monthly salary and, if you get one, the annual holiday bonus (lomaraha). The calculator first deducts the employee-side social contributions taken from every Finnish payslip: TyEL earnings-related pension (7.15% under 53 and from 63, 8.65% between 53 and 62), unemployment insurance (0.59% in 2026) and health-insurance contributions (about 1.5% combined).
Income tax is then computed on taxable income — gross minus the deductible contributions and the automatic work-expense deduction (tulonhankkimisvähennys, €750). The progressive state scale for 2026 runs from 12.64% on the first bracket to 44.25% at the top; municipal tax (7.54% on average after the SOTE reform — set your own municipality’s rate) and optional church tax (1–2%) are added on the same taxable base, and the earned-income credit (työtulovähennys) reduces the result for low and middle incomes.
The output shows net pay per month and per year, the split between taxes and pension contributions, and your effective total deduction rate. Figures are 2026 estimates for budgeting and salary comparison — your personal withholding rate (veroprosentti) from vero.fi accounts for individual deductions this general model cannot know.
Frequently asked questions
TyEL is the statutory earnings-related pension every employed person in Finland pays. The employee share is 7.15% of gross pay under age 53 and from 63 up, but 8.65% between 53 and 62 — the higher rate boosts pension accrual in the final working decades.
Since 2023 municipalities keep a smaller share of income tax (about 7.5% on average, varying by municipality) while the state collects the rest through a steeper progressive scale. Enter your own municipality’s rate for a precise result.
Your personal withholding percentage from vero.fi bundles all your individual deductions — commuting costs, union fees, mortgage-interest remnants, side income — into one rate. This calculator uses the standard deductions everyone gets, so treat it as a close estimate, not your exact tax card.
