About this calculator
Torque is a rotational force — the twisting effect produced by a force applied at a distance from a pivot. The SI unit is the newton-meter (Nm). In the US, torque (such as engine output or bolt tightening specs) is often given in pound-feet (lbf-ft) or pound-inches (lbf-in).
