Как работает этот калькулятор?

Torque unit converter: 1 ft·lb ≈ 1.3558 N·m; 1 in·lb ≈ 0.1130 N·m; 1 kgf·m ≈ 9.807 N·m; 1 N·cm = 0.01 N·m. Select the input unit, enter the value, and see all conversions instantly. N·m is the SI standard; ft·lb is common in US automotive and fastener specs.

Формула
τ = F × r • 1 ft·lb ≈ 1.3558 N·m • 1 kgf·m ≈ 9.807 N·m • 1 in·lb ≈ 0.1130 N·m
How this is calculated

Torque (moment of force) measures the rotational tendency a force produces about a pivot point. The SI unit is the Newton-meter (N·m): one newton of force applied perpendicularly at one metre from the axis. All other torque units convert to N·m via fixed factors derived from their definitions — a foot-pound uses a pound-force (≈4.448 N) acting at one foot (0.3048 m), giving 1 ft·lb ≈ 1.3558 N·m; a kgf·m uses standard gravity (g₀ = 9.80665 m/s²), giving 1 kgf·m ≈ 9.807 N·m; an inch-pound is one-twelfth of a foot-pound ≈ 0.1130 N·m.

The converter multiplies the entered value by the factor for the chosen input unit to get N·m, then divides by the factor for each target unit. No rounding is applied until display; conversions are symmetric — entering 1 ft·lb gives 1.3558 N·m, and entering 1.3558 N·m gives 1 ft·lb.

Note that torque and energy share the same dimensions (N·m = J) but are distinct physical quantities: torque is a pseudovector describing a rotational tendency, while a joule is a scalar measure of energy or work. Torque specifications on fasteners or engine outputs should never be confused with energy values.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Multiply by 1.3558. For example an engine producing 200 ft·lb of torque ≈ 271.2 N·m. Select "Foot-pound" as the input unit and enter the value to convert automatically.

1 kgf·m ≈ 9.807 N·m. The kgf·m uses the kilogram-force (weight of 1 kg under standard gravity) rather than the newton. It appears in older metric engineering literature but is not an SI unit; N·m is preferred for all new work.

Dimensionally yes (both are kg·m²/s²), but they describe different physical concepts. A joule quantifies energy (a scalar), whereas a Newton-meter of torque quantifies a rotational tendency (a vector). Do not substitute one for the other in formulas.
