Comment fonctionne cette calculatrice ?

Cubic meters = Length × Width × Height (all in meters). Multiply the three dimensions together, then convert: × 1000 for liters, × 35.3147 for cubic feet, ÷ 1,000,000 for cubic centimeters (inverted), × 264.172 for US gallons. All three inputs must be in the same unit — meters.

Formule
Volume (m³) = Length (m) × Width (m) × Height (m)
How this is calculated

The cubic meter (m³) is the SI unit of volume and is used globally in engineering, shipping, construction and science. Volume of a rectangular space is simply length × width × height, with all three measurements expressed in the same unit — meters. If your dimensions are in centimeters, divide each by 100 before entering them, or in millimeters, divide each by 1000.

Once the cubic-meter volume is known, converting to other units uses exact or internationally agreed factors: 1 m³ = 1000 liters exactly (because 1 liter = 0.001 m³); 1 m³ = 1,000,000 cm³ exactly; 1 m³ ≈ 35.3147 ft³ (using 1 foot = 0.3048 m); 1 m³ ≈ 61,023.7 in³; 1 m³ ≈ 264.172 US gallons; 1 m³ ≈ 219.969 imperial (UK) gallons.

Typical uses include calculating the volume of a shipping container, a water tank, a swimming pool, a concrete pour or a room for HVAC purposes. This calculator assumes a perfect rectangular (cuboid) space. For non-rectangular shapes, break the volume into rectangular sections and add the results together.

Questions fréquentes

Exactly 1000 liters. One liter is defined as exactly 0.001 m³, so 1 m³ = 1000 L.

Multiply by 35.3147. For example, 5 m³ × 35.3147 ≈ 176.57 ft³. The exact factor is 1 ÷ 0.0283168466.

Divide each centimeter value by 100 to get meters, then multiply the three values together. Alternatively, multiply the three centimeter values and divide by 1,000,000 (100³).
