快速解答

此計算機如何運作?

EPF corpus = monthly contributions of (employee 12 % + employer 3.67 %) × basic salary compounded at the EPFO interest rate (8.15 % for FY 2023-24, editable). The employer's remaining 8.33 % goes to EPS, not EPF. Contributions are tax-free; withdrawals are tax-free after 5 continuous years of service.

公式
Monthly EPF credit = (Employee 12 % + Employer 3.67 %) × Basic+DA Corpus = Σ monthly credits compounded at annual rate
How this is calculated

India's EPF scheme mandates monthly contributions from both employee and employer on the employee's basic salary plus dearness allowance (DA). The statutory minimum employee contribution is 12 % of basic+DA, which flows entirely into the EPF account. The employer also contributes 12 % of basic+DA, but this is split: 3.67 % goes to EPF and 8.33 % goes to the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS). This calculator projects only the EPF corpus — the EPS pension benefit is separate.

The calculator compounds the total monthly EPF credit (employee 12 % + employer 3.67 % = 15.67 % of basic+DA by default) at the EPF interest rate on a monthly basis (annual rate ÷ 12). EPFO actually credits interest annually at the financial-year end, calculated on the monthly running balance; monthly compounding is a close and slightly conservative approximation used here for simplicity. The 2023-24 interest rate is 8.15 %, but the rate is declared each year by EPFO — use the editable field to model different scenarios.

The projected corpus is gross EPF — before any tax on withdrawal. EPF withdrawals are tax-free if the employee has served continuously for five or more years. Early withdrawals or those below the five-year threshold may attract income tax. This calculator does not model the EPS pension, voluntary provident fund (VPF) top-ups, or TDS on withdrawals for very high earners. All figures are estimates; verify current contribution rates and interest at epfindia.gov.in.

常見問題

Both are part of India's Provident Fund framework. EPF (Employee Provident Fund) is a savings corpus you can withdraw at retirement or after leaving service. EPS (Employee Pension Scheme) is funded by 8.33 % of the employer's 12 % contribution (capped at Rs. 1,250/month on Rs. 15,000 basic) and pays a monthly pension. This calculator covers only the EPF corpus.

The employer's full 12 % contribution is split by EPFO: 8.33 % goes to EPS to fund your future pension, and only 3.67 % is credited to your EPF account. For salaries above Rs. 15,000/month, the EPS share remains capped at 8.33 % of Rs. 15,000, and any excess employer contribution above that cap goes to EPF.

EPFO calculates interest on the monthly running balance and credits the total at the financial-year end. The rate is declared annually by the government — 8.15 % for FY 2023-24. The calculator uses monthly compounding as a close approximation. Because interest is credited at year-end, the actual corpus may differ slightly from the projection.
